MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the emerging open standard for AI agents to call third-party data sources directly. A2A is agent-to-agent interop; WebMCP lets a website expose endpoints any AI agent can discover and query. Together they are the protocol layer of the agentic web — like REST and OAuth were for the social web.
